Blogs are a great way for a church planter to quickly and easily communicate with supporters. However, its easy for blogs to get stale and be just one more thing in the inbox. Consider using a video blog instead. Carl Kuhl, lead pastor of Mosaic Christian Church in the Baltimore area, posted a video blog to give an update to his supporters. If a picture says a thousand words then a video must say a million. (Before you send a video blog with literally a million words click here.)
We are a visual culture. My two year regularly talks to family via video conference on iChat. He gets annoyed with the phone because he “wants to see” who he is talking to. Most of us would rather watch the movie than read the book. Consider taking a little extra time with your blog and throwing in the occasional video post.
You might ask isn’t it ironic that you are posting a blog about using video and you don’t use video. Yes, but let’s be honest. Some have a face for tv, some a voice for radio. As for myself, well you draw the conclusion.
