I was recently pointed to the results of research by Stanford University about 10 things that create credibility for your website. The amazing thing is that the research was published in 2001, and the results are still applicable. The research has even outlasted the site; it was pulled down some time in 2008, but the results can still be found on archive.org.
Here’s the ones I see planters need to work on most from the list of 10:
- Make it easy to contact you.
- Design your site so it looks professional (or is appropriate for your purpose).
- Make your site easy to use — and useful.
- Update your site’s content often.
- Avoid errors of all types, no matter how small they seem.
Here’s to communicating better the most important Message ever!
